Cleaning

Accumulated dirt on solar panels — dust, pollution, bird droppings, leaves and debris — can reduce system efficiency by up to 30%. Está Limpo provides professional cleaning with no chemicals that could damage the photovoltaic surface.

Clean panels produce more energy

Está Limpo carries out professional solar panel cleaning for residential properties, ensuring maximum output and extending the lifespan of the equipment. We use equipment specifically designed for this type of cleaning, without chemicals that could damage the photovoltaic surface. The result is immediate: cleaner panels produce more energy.

Signs your panels need cleaning

  • Panels visibly dirty with dust, bird droppings or leaves
  • Noticeable drop in energy output or performance
  • Shaded areas caused by accumulated dirt
  • After prolonged periods of dusty wind or Saharan dust
  • After dusty rain — water evaporates and leaves marks
  • More than 6 months since the last professional clean

What the cleaning includes

  • Visual inspection of panel condition beforehand
  • Removal of leaves, debris and bird droppings
  • Cleaning with demineralised water and specialist equipment
  • No chemicals that could damage the photovoltaic surface
  • Cleaning of frames and mounting brackets
  • Visual check of overall condition after cleaning

Why clean your solar panels?

Maximise output

Dirty panels can lose up to 30% of their production capacity. Regular cleaning recovers that performance.

Prevent permanent damage

Bird droppings and limescale can create permanent stains and corrosion if not removed regularly.

Extend lifespan

Regular maintenance extends the life of your panels and protects your long-term investment.

How often should you clean?

We recommend cleaning twice a year — at the start of spring and at the end of summer — or whenever you notice a drop in performance, areas shaded by dirt, or after periods of dusty rain.

How it works

1

Request a quote

Tell us how many panels you have, where they're installed and their current condition. In most cases we can quote remotely through photos. If an in-person assessment is needed, there is a cost of 35€ + VAT, deductible from the service if you proceed.

2

Professional cleaning

Our team comes to your property with the appropriate equipment and carries out the clean using demineralised water — no chemicals.

3

Immediate result

Your panels are left clean and ready to produce at full capacity. We share a visual check of the condition at the end of the service.

How much does solar panel cleaning cost?

Price depends on the number of panels, type of installation and ease of access. In most cases we can quote from photos — quick and free.

Share the number of panels and a few photos of the installation to receive a personalised proposal.

What our clients say

The panels hadn't been cleaned in 2 years and production had dropped significantly. After Está Limpo cleaned them, output returned to normal. Very professional.

Fast, careful and no chemicals as I requested. The panels were spotless and energy production went up in the days that followed.

Frequently asked questions about solar panel cleaning

How often should I clean my solar panels?

We recommend two cleans per year: at the start of spring, after winter rains and dust, and at the end of summer, after the hottest months with dust and Saharan haze. If you notice a drop in output, cleaning may be needed sooner.

Doesn't rain clean the panels?

Not effectively. Rain can remove some loose dust, but it doesn't eliminate bird droppings, limescale, Saharan dust or dried residue marks. Dusty rain can also leave panels even dirtier once it dries.

Do you use chemicals in the cleaning?

No. We use only demineralised water and equipment specifically designed for photovoltaic panels. Chemicals can damage surfaces and void manufacturer warranties.

Can you damage the panels during cleaning?

No. Our team is trained for this type of work and uses equipment that doesn't scratch or damage the photovoltaic surface.

Do you clean panels on sloped roofs?

Yes, as long as access is safe. We always assess access conditions when quoting. For difficult-to-reach roofs, we can use specialist height-access equipment.

How long does cleaning take?

It depends on the number of panels and access conditions. A typical residential installation (6 to 12 panels) takes between 2 and 4 hours.
